Unai Emery hints young duo could be involved in Europa League final squad

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has dropped a major hint that young duo Bukayo Saka and Xavier Amaechi could be involved in their Europa League final in Baku.

The Gunners head to Azerbaijan to take on Chelsea on May 29 with a major European trophy and a Champions League spot up for grabs.

And two of the highly-rated young attackers at the Emirates could be primed to feature, with football.london reporting that Emery requested the pair by left out of consideration for England's youth international squads this month.

It has prompted speculation the pair could be set to head to Baku, where teams will be permitted to name 12 substitutes as they were last year.

Both have been stand-out performers for Fredde Ljungberg's Under-23s with Saka, 17, making his first team debut in November.

He went on to feature in three Premier League matchday squads over the festive period, making his first league appearance against Fulham on New Year's Day.

Amaechi, an electric winger, has been in stunning form since returning from injury, bagging five goals and five assists at youth level.

His promising performances have led to reported interest from Bayern Munich as Arsenal aim to keep their young talent from being tempted to the Bundesliga.

The pair have been training with Emery's first team squad, as have Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah after they played in their 3-1 win over Burnley in the last game of the season.

They are also expected to be part of Emery's travelling squad, with attacking spots up for grabs with Aaron Ramsey and Denis Suarez ruled out plus Danny Welbeck unlikely to be fit in time to feature.
