'Unai Emery has to go' - Arsenal fans rage with Lucas Torreira 'set' for crunch transfer meeting

Lucas Torreira will reportedly meet with Arsenal club officials next week to discuss his future.

According to Tutto Mercato Web , the midfielder is unsatisfied and wants to understand his role in Unai Emery's project.

And the report claims that depending on the outcome of the meeting, the Uruguayan international could seek to leave in January.

Torreira was a mainstay of the Arsenal first team in his first season following a £27million move from Sampdoria, but this term the 23-year-old has been behind Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi and Dani Ceballos in the pecking order.

Of Arsenal's 11 Premier League games this campaign, Torreira has only started three with the majority of his appearances coming in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.

Torreira was pictured in tears when Granit Xhaka was substituted to jeers from Arsenal fans during the draw with Crystal Palace, and he has also previously admitted to preferring life in Italy to living in England.

“I don’t know if there’s a lot of things that I’m enjoying [in England] because I think I liked living in Italy more,” he told reporters on international duty in June.

“London is a completely different world and England is a very big country.”

Reports in Italy claim AC Milan would be ‘interested in taking advantage of the discontent’, and Arsenal supporters have taken to social media to blame Emery for the situation.
