Unai Emery has hailed the return to action of Hector Bellerin.
The full-back made his long-awaited return as a late substitute in the 5-0 Carabao Cup victory over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening.
Bellerin only played 15 minutes of the clash at the Emirates Stadium, but Emery said that he's so happy to have a character such as the Spaniard back in the first team fold.
Speaking to the press after the game, Emery said: "I think Hector, his attitude is a big attitude to help us.
"When he was injured he showed a big mentality to help us. Everybody was wishing he will have that match on the pitch for the first time and his assist for [Joe] Willock.
"It's very important to have different options in the squad and first XI. We are going to play a lot of matches. That first 15 minutes tonight is very important for him.
"He wanted to play 90. He told me yesterday 'I am ready and want to play'. We decided to give him less minutes also because he played with the Under-23 on Friday and these are the first matches for him.
"We need to do progressively because the doctors say to us we are going to do it like that."
Asked if he'll be ready to start against Man United next week, Emery said: "I think no. Maybe in his mind yes. But we need to also listen to the doctor's. Tonight is the first day and minutes, we are going to share some minutes with the U23s.
"He's going to be progressively, it depends how he's feeling. In his mind he's feeling very well. The first minutes were amazing for him. We are going to use Ainsley [Maitland-Niles] and Calum Chambers to help us in this position and also with his attitude.
"The most important with him is his attitude and his desire to help us."
