Unai Emery delivers mixed Dani Ceballos injury news ahead of Arsenal's trip to Leicester City

Arsenal could be without Dani Ceballos for Saturday evening's Premier League encounter with Leicester City.

Head coach Unai Emery delivered an injury update on the on-loan Real Madrid star following the Gunners' 1-1 draw against Vitoria in the Europa League.

The incident occurred in the second half when Ceballos pulled up with what looked to be a hamstring problem.

He attempted carry on playing, but it soon became clear that he could not, with Emery forced into a change as Ceballos went straight down the tunnel after being substituted, and extent of the injury has now been revealed.

"He has a small injury but I don't think he is [going to be available] for the next weeks," Emery told BT Sport.

Ceballos' injury does open up a spot in midfield which will need to be filled at the King Power Stadium.

However, Emery refused to confirm or deny that it could mean a recall for former captain Granit Xhaka who hasn't featured since his gesture towards the Arsenal fans in the 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.

"We are going to prepare for the match with the players, some players had a rest today and maybe someone who played this evening," he added.

"But I think every player can be another possibility to play for Saturday and to be ready."

Although, Emery's comments in his post-match press conference were rather different.

When speaking to reporters, the Spaniard said he would prefer to wait until Thursday before ruling his compatriot out of the trip to Leicester.

"We are going to wait for the analysis tomorrow but at the beginning I think it is a small injury," he said.

Should Ceballos miss out against the Foxes, it will be the first game he doesn't feature in since arriving in north London in the summer transfer window.

Luckily the international break follows Saturday's clash which would give the midfielder a nice break ahead of the meeting with Southampton at the Emirates Stadium on November 23.
