Unai Emery delivers five-word message about Kieran Tierney that Arsenal fans will love

Unai Emery insists that Kieran Tierney is "ready to play" as Arsenal prepare to face Sheffield United on Monday night.

The Gunners return to action in the Premier League on Monday night with a trip to Bramall Lane to face the Blades, with Unai Emery boosted by the return of two players to his squad.

Alexandre Lacazette is now back in training with the first team after his ankle injury, while Emile Smith Rowe is also available for selection following his head injury, sustained during the Carabao Cup tie with Nottingham Forest last month.

But it is what Emery said about former Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney that will get Arsenal fans excited.

They may only have been five words, but Emery said: "He is ready to play."

Tierney has only played twice for Arsenal since his summer move from Celtic, with the Scottish international making his debut in the 5-0 win against Forest, before also featuring in the Europa League against Standard Liege.

The full-back was also involved as Arsenal played Reading in a behind-closed-doors match last week during the international break, and now is in contention to make his Premier League bow on Monday.

Meanwhile, Emery also provided an update on Lacazette following his return to training, adding that a decision will be made over his availability over the weekend.

"Today was his first session with us and he’s feeling well," Emery said about the Frenchman.

"It depends on how he feels in the next days whether he’ll feature on Monday but it’s been positive.

"I don’t know if he will play 90 minutes or start on the bench."

Some of Arsenal's players who have been away on international duty will be returning to training tomorrow (Friday), having been given two days to recover following the break.
