Unai Emery cancels managerial masterclass at Wembley amid increasing pressure

Unai Emery has had to cancel a managerial 'masterclass' talk he was due to give at a university as doubt grows over his future at Arsenal .

The Spaniard was due to speak to student at the University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) in Wembley.

But they have now been told the Gunners boss will not attend as the university highlighted the heightened negativity surrounding Emery.

The three-time Europa League winner has not seen his Arsenal side win for over 50 days having watched them scrape a 2-2 draw at home to struggling Southampton .

Emery was allowed to bring in plenty of new faces in the summer but is no closer to restoring Arsenal's Champions League status.

They sit eight-points outside the top four having won just two of their last 11 Premier League games.

"It is with much regret that we can no longer present Unai Emery to UCFB students this Friday," said a message leaked on social media.

"We have noticed that there have been a number of negative comments aimed at Mr Emery when the guest appearance was initially announced.

"We would like to take this opportunity to remind all students of the digital footprint that you create, which could impact you throughout your career within the football and sports industry.

"Please be mindful of this when interacting with UCFB guests, partners and fellow industry professionals."

Emery is one of a number of managers currently under pressure as the season heads towards the busy festive period.

Mauricio Pochettino has recently lost his job at Tottenham and his north London counterpart could yet be next.

Arsenal have two favourable fixtures coming up against Norwich and Brighton and will require maximum points from those two outings.

Marco Silva at Everton and West Ham's Manuel Pellegrini are also in need of a result to turn around their club's fortunes.
