Unai Emery aims subtle dig at Arsenal as he delivers Aaron Ramsey to Juventus transfer verdict

Unai Emery has aimed a sly dig at Arsenal.

This is in relation to Aaron Ramsey's exit from the Emirates Stadium to move to Juventus.

The North London favourite left upon the expiration of his contract last summer to join Juventus on a free transfer after Arsenal withdrew their offer of an extension.

David Seaman's safe hands challenge

His departure was followed by a tough start to the season for Arsenal, which ultimately led to Emery's sacking and Mikel Arteta returning to the club to take the reigns.

Since then, Arsenal have started to find their feet, remaining unbeaten in the Premier League in 2020, but Emery has regularly appeared in the press discussing his reign at the club.

Now, the outspoken former boss has revealed he backed Ramsey's choice to join Juventus after he joined the Serie A giants on a free transfer last summer.

"They were decisions made by the club and the player himself. The player decided to leave and he joined a big club. Aaron will be very important for Juventus, as he shares their ambition," he told TuttoJuve.

"I complimented him on his choice, because he picked a club where he can win a lot.

"Juventus is a big team in European and world football.

"After so many years in England, this is a great challenge for him.”
