Emery insisted after the Eintracht Frankfurt defeat that he is still thinking about Sunday’s trip to Norwich but the Gunners boss is running out of time.
Emery said: “Yes I can understand now all the criticism about the team, about me. We are not in a good moment and also as a coach I had that moment also in my career.
“Now our moment is not good. We need to win and to gain confidence. I think we are better than we are showing - the players, the coaches and me. Now we lost some confidence and we need to win. But really the response from the players in the first-half was good.
“But in this competition we continue to be in first place and we have a very good opportunity to win this group. We continue in this position and think of how we can achieve three points against Standard Liege.”
When pushed on whether Emery now fears for his job, he replied: “I am thinking first to analyse that match, that 90 minutes.
“Analyse also the Europa League, we are continuing in first, and analysing our moment. Above all with the result and also with some feelings. Today we improved things, but it was not enough.
“I am thinking how we can improve better, how we can achieve that confidence with the players and also the players know now they are a little down in their feelings. But if we continue and we can achieve the performance of the first half, that is the way.”
