Una Healy says she would love to give Strictly Come Dancing a go if asked by bosses

Una Healy has said that she would love to give Strictly Come Dancing a go if bosses asked her.

The Tipperary native is part of hit girl group The Saturdays, currently on hiatus, and a few of her bandmates have taken to the floor on the BBC show in the past.

Frankie Bridge came third in the 2014 series, while Mollie King reached the semi-finals back in 2017.

Una, currently hosting The Six O'Clock Show on Virgin Media, was asked by music mogul and reality show legend Louis Walsh if she'd put on her dancing shoes in the future if the opportunity arose.

She seemed interested in the idea, saying: "A few of the Saturdays have done it before, I think I'd give it a go.

"Now, I wouldn't be the strongest dancer in the world, so I'd have to learn how to do all those special dances but I'd give it a go one day."

She was encouraged to do so by Walsh, though the former X Factor judge did manage to wind Una up later in the show.

They were in the middle of debating the Little Mix drama hitting headlines in recent weeks.

The band, now made up of Leigh-Anne, Jade and Perrie, have been locked in a war of words with former group member Jesy Nelson.

And when asked about the rift, Walsh said that it's the norm in girl bands.

Louis said: "I don’t believe all that, that’s every girl band, ask Una. I worked with Girls Aloud, it’s every girl band. It’s difficult."

But Una responded saying: "I have to say about The Saturdays now, we actually got on really well. Genuinely so well."

And while Una argued these things happen in all professions and walks of life, Louis simply said "it's mainly girls".

Una's co-host Martin King soon interjected to keep the debate moving rather than get people drawn into an argument.
