Una Healy opens up on 'worst six months' of her life after 'throuple' rumours

Singer Una Healy has admitted her reported “throuple” with boxer David Haye and his girlfriend Sian Osborne has been the worst six months of her life.

The former Saturdays star insists she was never in such a relationship – and had initially hooked up with former world heavyweight boxing champ as he said he was single. Tipperary woman Una, 41, appeared on the Angela Scanlon Show on RTE on Saturday night, in which she rubbished the rumour she was ever in a throuple.

She said: “I think I need to put this whole thing to bed right now and move on. The only throuple that I am in, is me, myself and I. To be honest, it’s been horrendous.”

And in a follow-up interview with the Sunday Times yesterday, Una added: “It’s been the worst six months of my life you know. I just want it to be over and put it all behind me.”

The mum-of-two said she had hoped the whole throuple thing, which emerged during a holiday to Morocco with Haye and Sian in January, would fade away if she ignored and didn’t comment on it, but she now believes she should have spoken out against it sooner.

Una revealed that she first came into contact with Haye in the summer of last year. She said: “He told me he was single.

“He said that he just broke up with his girlfriend.

“We’re a similar age, both divorced and he’s got kids as well. I knew that he wasn’t going to be husband material, but I thought, ‘I’ve been single for a while and I just want to have a bit of fun’. I wasn’t looking for a husband.

“He told me straight out that he doesn’t believe that the traditional relationship exists any more. They were exactly his words, and I was like, ‘OK, good luck with that’.”

Una says that after being on a few dates with Haye in London last year, he suggested that she should meet with Sian.

She added: “He said we were both really special in his life and it would be good for us to spend some time together. I said no. I wanted to see him alone but I was concerned that if we were ever papped together that people would say that he was cheating on his girlfriend with me so I agreed.”

Una said that David then booked the trip away to Morocco, and later also Costa Rica, for herself and Sian.

She said: “He suggested Morocco, which sounded great but when he booked it he told me that Sian was coming too. I wasn’t sure. How would that work? Was it really strange? I wasn’t sure what to do.

“We had a really nice evening on New Year’s Eve and I posted a picture of the three of us sitting down having a meal.

“Then suddenly ‘a source’ came forward and had this whole story that David’s now in a relationship with two women.

“I want one man to share my life with and I don’t want to share him.”
