United Nations special envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths arrived in Sanaa on Monday as part of his efforts to hold peace consultations in Sweden later this week.
The Iran-backed Houthis had last week announced that they will take part in the UN-sponsored talks in Sweden if they received the necessary guarantees to ensure their safe departure from and return to Yemen.
The Houthis had set conditions to their participation. One of them was the evacuation of their wounded from Sanaa, which the legitimate government and Saudi-led Arab coalition had agreed to.
The militias then refused to submit a list with the names of the evacuees, raising concern that members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards were among the wounded.
The Arab coalition had agreed Sunday on the evacuation of 50 Houthis from Sanaa on Monday.
The wounded would be transported outside the country on humanitarian grounds and they will receive treatment in Muscat, Oman.
A UN source, meanwhile, said the reopening of Sanaa International Airport was a priority at the planned peace talks, reported AFP.
