Umbrellas are banned from LIMF at Sefton Park this weekend

Liverpool International Music Festival takes over Sefton Park this weekend for its seventh year - and the weather isn’t looking great so far.

More than 70 acts will perform across the weekend come rain or shine, so festival goers should be prepared for the rain.

Unfortunately, festival organisers have revealed umbrellas are banned from the park this year, which means guests will need to bring their raincoats instead.

This year, umbrellas are among the many items prohibited from the festival site as they could be ‘used as weapons’ or have been deemed to be ‘dangerous or inappropriate’.

Guests heading to Cream Classical in the Park tonight should also be aware that the same rules apply - no umbrellas all round.

Those traveling to LIMF or Cream Classical this weekend should also note that Merseyrail has confirmed that services between Liverpool Central and Hunts Cross are cancelled until Monday, July 22.

This means anyone planning to make their way to Sefton Park via St Michael’s train station should make other arrangements - here’s how to still get to the festival .
