Umar Sadiq eyed for Manchester City transfer as Rangers flop valued at £30m

Manchester CIty are set to make a £30m bid for Rangers flop Umar Sadiq, according to a report.

The striker had a miserable six months in Scotland where he made just one start, in a Betfred Cup semi-final defeat to Aberdeen.

He's since turned his career around at Partizan Belgrade and Almeria but it's now suggested that Man City could make a big money move for the frontman.

Spanish outlet AS report City would sign the 24-year-old then immediately loan him out to Troyes in Ligue 1, who are also part of the City group of clubs.

Spartak Moscow and Eintracht Frankfurt have already made bids to sign him while Sevilla and Villarreal are also reportedly interested.

But Pep Guardiola’s men joining the race to sign him could spark a bigger transfer battle if they open their cheque book.

The oil rich Premier League outfit are on the lookout for new strikers but not many would have expected Sadiq’s name to be on that list.

Almeria aren’t willing to sell for less than £30m, with Sadiq having a £60m release clause.

His time at Ibrox is best remembered for Steven Gerrard being heavily critical of him in training before Sadiq rounded Joe Lewis at Hampden before diving in an attempt to win a penalty instead of finishing the chance he had.
