A group of supporters in South America threatened to kill their club's players if they lost a relegation play-off.
Colo Colo are seen as the biggest football club in Chile and have never been relegated in their 92-year history.
Ahead of Wednesday's play-off against Universidad de Concepcion, Colo Colo's ultras sent death threats to their players.
A large banner displayed at the club's training ground read: "You win or we kill you."
Luckily for the players, they won the game 1-0 to maintain their place in the top flight as teenager Pablo Solari found the net in the 19th minute.
Colo Colo are the only Chilean team to have won the Copa Libertadores, South America's equivalent of the Champions League, and relegation for them would be similar to Manchester United going down to England's Championship.
Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal and Claudio Bravo are among those to have played for the club earlier in their careers.
Colo Colo have won the Chilean league a record 32 times, with their most recent success coming in 2017.
