If you've bought more pasta than you can shake a stick at to keep yourself fed while you self-isolate during the coronavirus pandemic, you may now be wondering what to do with it all.
You needn't worry, though, because one man has come through with the 'ultimate' cheesy macaroni cheese recipe, and the best bit is, it requires almost no effort to make. That is music to my ears.
The recipe was first shared by Emmett Otter on popular Facebook group Crockpot/Slow Cooker Recipes & Tips , where it quickly went viral after becoming a huge hit with followers.
Posting a mouth-watering picture of his stringy mac 'n' cheese, Emmett wrote: "Y’all like cheese pulls? This is for cheese lovers only!!!"
Emmett then went on to share his recipe for his Extra cheesy Mac and cheese.
The recipe is as follows:
- 1lb uncooked macaroni pasta
- 4 1/2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 cups shredded Colby jack Cheese

1/4 cup butter

Season to taste using: salt, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, ground black pepper
Follow these steps:

Combine the ingredients and stir until well mixed

Put slow cooker on LOW and cook for 1-3 hours, until done.

Emmett recommends checking it after the first hour, then every 30 minutes after that. His was done after 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Hundreds of people have now responded to the post, with many keen to give it a go themselves.
Writing under Emmett's recipe, one person said: "My favorite Mac and cheese recipe."
"Yum!!! Definitely cooking this," said somebody else.
A third person added: "Giving this a go today."
"Looks delicious to me," said somebody else.
Looks like it's mac 'n' cheese for dinner tonight!
