Souls in Anime Rangers X are equippable items that grant your units various unique buffs, which you can't find on regular gear items. You can equip only one soul per unit (Mythic +), and there is also a limit on how many specific souls you can have on a team. For example, Soul of Fire works well both on DPS and support units, but your team can have only one unit with it at a time.

S-tier souls, such as the Domain of Love Soul and Soul of Infinite Riches, are useful in basically every game mode, and you should have them on your team at all times. How to Get Better Souls in Anime Rangers X
You can get new souls in Anime Rangers X through various in-game mechanics, with soul gacha and crafting being the most common ones. Soul summoning can be accessed through the Soul Craft NPC in the upgrade area. To roll once on the gacha, you need 4 Soul Fragments. In the crafting menu, some very powerful souls can be crafted using other souls, Soul Fragments, and some other materials. Here is an overview of all methods for obtaining souls:

Farming Soul Fragments
Every hour, you can buy one Soul Fragment for 2m coins at the merchant shop. 
You can buy several Soul Fragments from the Raid Shop every day. 
You can get a certain amount of Soul Fragments by progressing through the battlepass. 
A few Soul Fragments are available at the Boss Rush exchange every day. 
Event capsules usually contain Soul Fragments.
Soul Fragments are probably the most sought-after material in ARX, as you need them to obtain the most powerful souls available. You can get more Soul Fragments from the following mechanics:
- Merchant Shop (One SF every hour)
- Raid Shop (Four SF every day)
- Regular and event Battlepasses

No, units that are below Mythic in rarity can't equip souls.
Currently, the Soul of Cyclops is impossible to obtain, as some of the Swarm Event missions are bugged. We expect developers to address this bug in a future update.
Soul Fragments are best farmed by opening Borus Capsules, as there is no limit to how many Soul Fragments you can get from them in a day.
