Anchor Panic is one of the most strategically difficult gacha games out there, and to navigate the early/mid-game as efficiently as possible, we've compiled an extensive list of tips and tricks to help you out. We'll discuss what you should spend your resources on, what modes to play, what characters to use, and more. So, without further ado, let's jump into our ultimate Anchor Panic beginner's guide!
What are Your Early Game Goals in Anchor Panic?
Your early game goals in Anchor Panic are to put together a solid team that'll carry you through the Story stages, upgrade your characters, build up your Base to increase your Corosion (Energy) generation, and clear Story 5-14. We'll cover all that and more in this guide.
How to Reroll and What Characters You Should Get

The first thing you should do when you start out in Anchor Panic is reroll your account. It can be a lengthy process, but it's very worth it. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to reroll your account, and the best characters to reroll for are outlined in the table below:
- Download MuMu Player or some other Android emulator.
- Install and download the additional data for Anchor Panic on the virtual device. Do NOT log into an account, not even as a Guest.
- Close the virtual device and create copies of it. Follow the guide on how to use multiple instances with MuMu Player.
- Run the multi-instance and start the game on every copy (DO NOT USE THE MAIN INSTANCE; you'll need it to create more copies of it) on a Guest Account and complete the tutorial.
- Collect all the rolls from events, mail, etc.
- Pull on the Regular Link and the UP Link gachas.
- Do NOT pull on the Onboarding Link banner. You can save that for after you've gotten a good account.
- Your goal here is to get 1 SSR from the UP Link and 1 SSR from the Regular Link. That's the ideal scenario. Tern is your goal from the Regular Link.
- If it's a bad reroll, delete all the copies. Then, create new copies from the main instance.
- Keep redoing this way until you get a good account.
- Once you have a good account, pull on the Onboarding Link banner until you get Merlot and 1-2 good SRs.
Best Characters to Reroll for
Character | Explanation |
---|---|
![]() Tern |
Tern is the ultimate end-game support/buffer in Anchor Panic and by far the best character you can reroll for. She is awesome even without any Ascension levels, and is a core member of literally every meta team. If you've got the time and are planning to reroll with multiple instances and whatnot, she is your goal. |
![]() Flicker |
Flicker is one of the best end-game tanks and is also a decent DPS considering her main purpose. However, she is fairly low priority compared to Tern (Dione/Antilope are great alternatives for the early game and F2P-friendly), and you should go for her only if you plan to use her as something that'll carry you through the early game. |
![]() Lilira |
Lilira is one of the best end-game healers/supports, but again, she is fairly low priority compared to Tern, as there are SR characters that can fulfil her purpose decently well (Centaurea, Streyne, etc.). Go for her only if you're exhausted from rerolling or just don't plan on getting Tern early on. |
Is it Worth Rerolling in Anchor Panic?
The tutorial in Anchor Panic is fairly short, and if you're running multiple instances using MuMu Player or some other emulator, it can be done extremely efficiently. Plus, there is one character that is extremely worth rerolling for (Tern), which would help you immensely throughout the game. So, yes, it's very worth it to reroll your account in Anchor Panic.
What are the Best Early Game Characters in Anchor Panic?

The best characters you can get in the early game in Anchor Panic are mostly the reroll priorities we outlined above: Karanissa (best DPS for the early game) > Flicker (tank/support/DPS that can solo carry you) > Tern (the best buffer in the game and a reroll priority). Other characters worth mentioning are: Merlot/Alice (DPS), Deling/Streyne/Centaurea (support), and Antilope/Dione (tank).
What is the Best Character on the Beginner Banner?
The best character on the beginner banner (Onboarding Link) is Merlot. She is a DPS that works extremely well with Fire characters that can stack Burn, and Sparkle-Wing (SR) is amazing for that. Add a frontline and a few supports, and you can clear anything with them.
Best Early Game Team Compositions
Below are all the easy-to-obtain SR and SSR characters and how to make a good team comp that will carry you through the early game. Merlot and Alice are the best DPSs you can get from the beginner banner, while other characters are all SRs that you're almost guaranteed to get all within the first 50-100 pulls.

How to Efficiently Upgrade Your Characters in Anchor Panic

The rule of thumb in the early game in Anchor Panic is to max out one character (your main DPS) and have them carry you through every stage. After you've maxed out one character, you move to the next, and so on until all are fully upgraded. Here is a step-by-step guide on which things to upgrade first for your main DPS, where to get resources, and so on:
- Upgrade Character Level to 60 to unlock the 2nd Talent: You'll need a lot of Battle Reports to increase your character level. You can get more than enough of them from events, missions, etc. Focus only on 5 characters at most, and don't waste them on suboptimal characters.
- Breakthrough Character Levels at 20/40/60: You'll need Promotion Badges to breakthrough, which you can get from the Promotion Train game mode. Again, focus on one character at a time.
- Increase all Skill Levels to 7: You will get Skill Nuclei from various missions and events, and you can farm them in Skill Train as well. Upgrade all skills of your main characters to level 7.
- Upgrade your best Sygils to Level 40: You can get upgrade materials from various missions/events and from Sigil Train and Sigil Ascension. Sygils can be transferred between characters, so focus only on the best ones you have.
- Get 2-Set Model bonuses on your main characters: Get Models from Model Test and equip each character so they have the 2-Set bonuses active. Then go for 4-Set bonuses on your best characters and upgrade them to Level 20 for extra stats.
- Use Gifts on your best characters: Gift items to your best characters for a bit of extra stats.

How to Get Erosion (Energy) in Anchor Panic

Erosion (Energy) is the resource you'll spend in Anchor Panic to challenge different game modes. You can get it for free by completing events, battle pass missions/levels, weekly missions, etc. You can also spend Crystal Ashes to buy Erosion, but that's extremely bad to do, especially if you're an F2P player. Instead, spend Crystal Ashes on summons, and get Erosion from free sources.
Boost Erosion Generation With Power Model Base Building
You'll unlock the Base during the 3rd Story chapter and the Power Model you construct will give you a passive increase to your Energy Regeneration. Make sure to upgrade it whenever possible and put your best characters in it for maximum boosts.
Duplicates/Shards Ascension Requirements

Ascension is one of the main upgrade mechanics in Anchor Panic, allowing you to unlock new passives and bonuses for your characters. Each time you get a duplicate of a character that you have, you'll get 100 Character Shards that you can spend to Ascend them. Here is how many Shards are required for each Ascension level of an SSR character (SR/R characters have lower requirements and you'll max them out all passively):
- Ascension 1: 50 Shards (50 Total - 1 Duplicate)
- Ascension 2: 60 Shards (110 Total - 2 Duplicates)
- Ascension 3: 75 Shards (185 Total - 2 Duplicates)
- Ascension 4: 90 Shards (275 Total - 3 Duplicates)
- Ascension 5: 105 Shards (380 Total - 4 Duplicates)
- Ascension 6: 120 Shards (500 Total - 5 Duplicates)
