Ulster tie down versatile back to new long term deal

Ulster head coach Dan McFarland is confident there’s more to come from Stewart Moore who has signed a new long term contract with the club.

Moore is the latest player to commit his future to the province, signing a deal that keeps him at the Kingspan Stadium until at least 2025.

The 22-year-old is a product of the Ulster Rugby Academy and has made 27 appearances since making his senior debut against Leinster in December 2019.

McFarland said: “It is really encouraging to have Stewart sign with Ulster for a further three seasons. He is a versatile player who is set to bring a lot to the province in the years ahead.

“Stewart has a good all-round skill set and is a lovely balanced runner who can cause defences problems. I look forward to seeing him develop over the coming years.”

Ballymoney native Moore believes he is at the right place to evolve his game and continue developing as a first team player.

He said: “I am pleased to be continuing my career at my home club – and I look forward to progressing as a player and person.

“There is no better place to do that than here at Ulster.

“It’s very exciting to be part of such a young squad that is constantly competing for championships, and feared whether it’s in the URC or Europe.”

Moore is the second Ulster player in 24 hours to sign a new contract, following Robert Baloucoune who has also penned a deal to keep him at the Kingspan until 2025.
