Ulster star reveals brilliant practice routine ahead of European clash

John Cooney has revealed a brilliant new practice routine to help Ulster's kickers deal with Clermont's raucous atmosphere this weekend.

The province return to Heineken Champions Cup action on Saturday against the French Top 14 side.

Ulster have impressed in Europe so far, sitting top of Pool 3 following four wins from four - including a victory over Clermont in Belfast back in November.

They will be in for a warm welcome at the Stade Marcel Michelin on Saturday.

Cooney has revealed how Ulster's kickers have been training for the loud atmosphere - by wearing headphones with the sound of the Clermont crowd!

Cooney posted a clip on his Instagram account:

Rugby commentator Mark Robson replied: "Good plan. When I’ve worked there the commentary gantry would sometimes vibrate when the crowd stamped their feet hammered the hoardings and roared ! Quite an atmosphere. You’ll love it."

Let's hope Ulster can quieten down the home crowd on Saturday and secure another big win in Europe.
