Ulster Bank issues apology as accounts experiencing payment delays

Some Ulster Bank customers are experiencing delays with receiving payments ahead of the bank holiday weekend.

The bank has issued an apology to its customers and said it's "urgently" trying to fix the issue.

It tweeted: "We're experiencing delays applying credits to some customers' accounts, which we’re working to fix urgently. Sorry if this is causing you problems.

"We'll post an update once we have more information. If you need help send us a private message or message us securely in our app."

Sinn Fein's finance spokesperson Pearse Doherty hit out at the "failures" at the company which has "hurt customers".

He said: "Failures at Ulster Bank have again hurt customers who haven't received their pay in past 24 hours and face penalties if debits go unpaid.

"How many people are affected? Have you called them? Will you provide emergency payments to make sure they're not out of pocket?"
