Ulrika Jonsson slams double-standard over 'golden boy' Jack Grealish's alleged affairs

Ulrika Jonsson has criticised the double-standard in the response to reports that footballer Jack Grealish has been seeing two women whilst also in a long-term relationship.

It comes amid speculation that the Manchester City player, 26, has been dating both TV presenter Emily Atack, 31, and Love Island winner Amber Gill, 24 - which is said to have "devastated " his girlfriend Sasha Attwood, 26.

The rumours have led to a backlash, particularly against Atack and Gill, with presenter Jonsson - once a so-called 'other woman' herself - now weighing in on the situation.

She shared her thoughts in a recent column for The Sun - in which she appeared to criticise the fact he remains a "golden boy", whilst his alleged dates have been vilified.

Jonsson wrote in the opinion piece: "As per usual, there is pity for the long-term girlfriend, with Emily and Amber being trolled for purportedly 'stealing' him."

"But all the while, Jack remains a golden boy in the England team, while the rest of the world awaits handbags at 20 paces between the women," the 54-year-old added.

The model implied that it's similar to what happened with herself and Nancy Dell'Olio in the early 2000s - amid the former's affair with football manager Sven-Göran Eriksson.

She said the current drama "reminds" her of a "certain Swedish England manager who had an affair with a Swedish TV presenter" - with Eriksson understood to have been in a relationship with Dell'Olio whilst he was seeing Jonsson.

Jonsson suggested that despite his indiscretions being at the centre of any allegations, the focus became the two women - perhaps similarly to the situation with Grealish.

She said: "Without warning, the story became about two women fighting over one man." Jonsson added that she "bowed out," rather than compete for Eriksson.

The mum-of-four - who will appear on the upcoming series of Celebs Go Dating - concluded: "Not much has really changed in football over the past two decades. Misogyny is still the highest scorer."

The Mirror approached reps of Jack Grealish, Emily Atack and Amber Gill for comment on this article.
