Ulrika Jonsson has claimed the stars of Gladiators were "jumping from bed to bed" off-camera.
The 54-year-old telly host, who presented the hit show back in the 1990s, also suggested one female star boasted of having sex with four people in one night.
Ulrika made the saucy revelations to Vicky Pattison while chatting on an episode of her podcast The Secret To.
"In the first year, there was loads of jumping from bed to bed," Ulrika told the former Geordie Shore star.
"One female gladiator said: 'You were f***ing five people! People were coming and going in your room last night', and she replied: 'No, only four'."
"The hotel room had to stop them using fake tan as it ruined the sheets," the Celebrity Big Brother winner added.
Ulrika presented the sports entertainment game show alongside former footballer John Fashanu upon its launch in the UK in 1992.
The programme's format saw four contestants, two male and two female, compete in a series of physical events against the show's Gladiators, eventually competing in one final event, with contestants aiming to secure a place in the grand final.
The show with a hit with viewers and the Gladiators become celebrity figures - going on to need security.
Ulrika explained to podcast host Vicky that by the third year of filming the ITV series, the level of fame the Gladiators had achieved had become crazy.
"The Gladiators themselves had to have bodyguards, it was really bizarre - they just became so popular. They had so many fans," the Shooting Stars presenter said.
While discussing the show's steamy behind-the-scenes secrets, Ulrika didn't confess to taking part in any of the raunchy romps herself.
The mum-of-four did however open up about her on-set romance with show star Hunter, aka bodybuilder James Crossley.
The Gladiators co-stars enjoyed a brief relationship in 1996 as they both worked alongside each other on the iconic show.
"Obviously I dated Hunter for about a year and a half and away from the show he was amazing and the sweetest, sweetest man," Ulrika said of her former flame.
"He was only 22 when I think when I got together with him. Poor boy."
James returned to our screens once again earlier this year, taking on a new alter-ego to appear on reality TV show, The Circle.
The 47-year-old star competed on the Channel 4 show as fictional NHS nurse 'Gemma' in a bid to win the cash prize.
However, his attempt to catfish his housemates failed and the former Gladiators star was eliminated from the series.
Ulrika acknowledged her former lover's TV comeback - sharing a number of cute social media posts dedicated to her one-time co-star.
"It's too late at night for me to watch but he can be cute," the star captioned a close up shot of James appearing on The Circle.
