Ulrika Jonsson admits she had a tricky relationship with her own mum in a heartfelt Instagram post for Mother's Day.
The TV presenter said her "one ambition in life" was to become a mother and described it as "an absolute honour and a privilege."
But the 53-year-old said: "It's also been a pain in the a*** (literally); a struggle; a psychological f***-up; and terrifying at times."
Ulrika is mum to Callum, 26, Bo, 21, Martha, 16, and 12-year-old Malcolm.
She added: "The second pic is of my beautiful mum who had me when she was 19 and with whom I’ve had a tricky relationship since I can remember.
"I guess I didn’t want to make what I saw as ‘her’ mistakes but have doubtless made my own.

"To all the women out there who would have loved to have been mothers; who never could be; who aren’t biologically but in every other way; who do it on their own; to the men who are the mother; to the women who have lost theirs.
"Even if you never wanted to be one, we celebrate you anyway.
"And we think of all the mothers who have lost their children, big and small."

Last month Ulrika admitted she looked for younger men to date on Tinder, but was horrified with what she found.
She was encouraged by a friend to join the dating app as the coronavirus pandemic meant she couldn't meet someone in real life.
She revealed she set her age range for potential matches from 26 to 50, but she was shocked to start receiving pictures of their privates.
In the end, she didn't spend much time on Tinder as she found that she preferred to meet men the old fashioned way, but is glad she gave it a go.

Ulrika decided she couldn't date anyone younger than 26-years-old because that's how old her eldest boy Callum is.
And when she finally got to grips with Tinder, she found it hard to get used to the swiping left and right to find matches.
When she started chatting to someone, the conversation would go well until it quickly turned sexual.
Ulrika added: "They would initiate conversation, enquiring as to how I was and then, two or three questions in, they would ask if I wanted to be furnished with a picture of their Sgt Major.
"I think, from that moment on, I always knew I wasn't likely to find love's young dream in this way."
Ulrika decided to stop using Tinder, but she said she appreciated the lessons in love and life it taught her.
She continued: "I've enjoyed taking part in what I consider to be a giant social experiment. And while I didn't spend much time on Tinder, I learnt more about modern life in that hour than I have in 53 years, and I'm still on there."
