Ulrika Jonsson 'distraught and bereft' as beloved dog Nessie dies

Ulrika Jonsson has shared her heartbreak over the death of her beloved dog Nessie.

Dog lover Ulrika remembered the pooch as her 'first fur baby' as she paid an emotional tribute on Instagram.

The former Gladiators presenter, 52, shared a black and white photograph of her tenderly giving Nessie a kiss on the head.

"She's gone," read the simple caption.

The news Ulrika was dreading came a few days after she opened up about her dog's health battle.

"Ma grande dame. My first born fur baby. Has spent 48hrs at our lovely vet’s. She’s not going to win this battle. I’ve been beyond distraught and bereft. We will keep her at home as long as we can. My girl."

Ulrika followed this up with a make-up free selfie as she admitted she was struggling.

"Difficult times. For everyone. Not feeling it for all sorts of reasons," she said.

"All those a**** out there who say 'stay strong' foolishly make the assumption you were strong from the start. "

"Some of us are not. Don’t feel the need to stay strong. Just stay," Ulrika advised.

Speaking earlier this month, the former Celebrity Big Brother winner hinted she is seeing a new man five years after the end of her marriage to ex Brian Monet.

The presenter previously claimed that her marriage broke down after she and advertising executive Brian had sex just once in eight years.

Writing a column for Best in December, mum Ulrika revealed she ias enjoying sex more now than in her 30s.
