What’s Going To Happen
ULM needs to enjoy this week before going on the road to deal with Florida State and Iowa State.
Grambling State got rocked by Louisiana in last year’s opener 49-17, and now it has to deal with a dangerous Warhawk offense that should be among the Sun Belt’s best.
The Tigers get back seven starters on one of the best pass rushing defenses in the FCS – it finished eighth in sacks and third in tackles for loss – and they have to come up with lots and lot of takeaways to keep this close.
ULM was 124th in the nation last year in turnover margin.
The Warhawks are missing most of the key receivers from last year, but the running game should be a whole lot stronger right away. The key will be the ULM offensive line that gets everyone back, and it should be able to keep star QB Caleb Evans from getting creamed.
