Ulhasnagar based Darbar distributed food among rain affected people

KALYAN: Thyra Singh Darbar again proved to be an angel again for rain-affected people in Ulhasnagar and Kalyan.

On Wednesday morning, as soon as the volunteers of the Darbar came to know that the water level of Waldhuni and Ulhas river was rising, they immediately started cooking food, which was later distributed to the people in the affected areas.

Dhiraj Kurseja, a volunteer from Thyra Singh Darbar said: "On Wednesday we distributed food to around 12,000 affected people throughout Karotiya Nagar, Shanti Nagar, Valdhuni, Varap, Kamba and Maharal while on Thursday also we distributed breakfast and food to 5,000 people through Darbar".

According to the Kusreja, it took time to clean the mess in the house due to water enter, so affected people on Thursday despite water recedes were unable to cook food hence they distributed them food as well as breakfast till afternoon and in the evening also.

It may be recalled that earlier also during flood last year and previous years, Thayra Singh Darbar had come forward for those affected in flood and their work was appreciated by everybody.
