- Russia's Federal Security Service confirmed the death of a military official and announced the detention of a woman suspected of carrying out the attack.
- Local media reports say that the explosive device was hidden in a rubbish bin on Stoletovsky Prospekt and killed the official instantly.
- Mr Shageyev previously commanded Ukraine's only operational submarine before defecting during Russia's 2014 occupation of Crimea.
