Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk makes history as she reaches French Open semi-finals

  • Marta Kostyuk beat fellow Ukrainian Elina Svitolina to reach the French Open semi-finals on Tuesday.
  • Kostyuk won the opening set 6-3, but was pegged back in the second as Svitolina took it 6-2 to force a decider.
  • It was Kostyuk who held her nerve as she completed a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 victory to move into the last four.
  • Kostyuk, 23, has made history as she is the first Ukrainian woman to reach the semi-finals at Roland Garros since the professional era began in 1968.
