Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has responded to recent false claims made by former US President Donald Trump, accusing him of spreading disinformation. Zelensky addressed reporters in Kyiv, emphasizing the importance of clarifying the inaccuracies put forth by Trump.

Zelensky expressed his respect for Trump as a leader but highlighted the misinformation surrounding Ukraine's role in the conflict with Russia. He refuted Trump's assertion that Ukraine initiated the war, labeling it as baseless.

One of the key points of contention was Trump's claim regarding Zelensky's approval rating, which the Ukrainian president disputed. Zelensky clarified that the reported 4% approval rating was misinformation originating from Russia, citing evidence that suggested collusion between American and Russian sources in spreading false data.

To counter Trump's claims, Zelensky referenced a recent poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS). The survey indicated that while Zelensky's popularity had decreased since the conflict's onset, his approval rating had consistently remained above 50%, currently standing at 57%.

By addressing these inaccuracies, Zelensky aimed to set the record straight and uphold the integrity of information surrounding Ukraine's political landscape. The Ukrainian president's response underscores the importance of verifying facts and combating the spread of disinformation in today's global discourse.
