Zelensky says Russia trying to incite war in the Middle East
Russia’s frontal assault in eastern Ukraine has led to huge losses, according to the latest claims by Ukraine, as the Kremlin denied Western accusations that they are receiving weapons from North Korea.
Geolocated footage throughout the past week has shown multiple columns of Russian armoured personnel carriers (APCs) around Avdiivka, Donetsk Oblast, being hit by Ukrainian artillery.
Kyiv has claimed that Russia has lost 127 tanks, 239 APCs and 161 artillery systems in the last week, though this has not been confirmed.
It comes as Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov denied that Russia was accepting weapons from North Korea following satellite imagery suggesting otherwise.
“This is not only British intelligence; this is also American intelligence. They keep reporting this all the time, but do not provide any evidence,” Peskov said as cited by state news agency Interfax.
The White House accused North Korea last Friday of shipping more than 1,000 containers to Russia that were believed to be filled with arms.
