UK Weather: Will it finally stop raining today?

There will finally be a bit of respite from the relentless rain and storms over the past month or so, with an almost totally dry day being forecast for today (March 3) by the Met Office in Britain.

There will be some showers, but they will be few and far between, as a gap in weather fronts sees the weather calming right down from early on Thursday.

The day in Bristol will begin very overcast, with grey clouds from dawn onwards.

But the chance of rain is given at just ten per cent by the forecasters, dropping to less than five per cent as the day progressess.

In Bristol, the temperature will be around seven or eight degrees C, but it'll feel a bit chillier than even that, with a slight northerly breeze gusting up to 22mph at times. That will make it feel like just 2degC at times.

The clearing skies will see the city dry out a bit - the humidity is set to drop from 92 per cent at the start of the day to 67 per cent by 3pm. But as the wind swings around from the north to the west later in the day, that will go back up again.

The outlook for Friday and the weekend ahead is largely good - a dry and sometimes sunny day on Friday, a dry day on Saturday, but Sunday is looking distinctly wet again.
