UK weather: What the Met Office said about 'risk of snow' tomorrow

Snow is forecast to hit the UK tomorrow - and the odd flurry is even possible in Bristol.

The Met Office said scattered showers will bring a "risk of sleet and snow" over higher ground in the early hours of Tuesday morning (January 28).

However, a spokesman for the weather agency confirmed today (January 27) that any snow in the South West is unlikely to settle.

"The significant snow will be confined to Scotland today and tomorrow," he said.

"We could still see the odd flurry in higher ground in the South West but it's unlikely to settle.

"You're more likely to see rain showers than anything else.

"From Wednesday we've got milder air coming in so there'll be even less chance of snow."

The South West forecast for tomorrow says: "Scattered locally heavy showers will continue through Tuesday and bring a risk of sleet and snow over higher ground.

"Feeling chilly. Maximum Temperature 5C."

Temperatures should rise in Bristol throughout the week after tomorrow, peaking on Sunday (February 2) at 13C.

However, it's not all good news, as rain is forecast every day from Wednesday to Sunday.
