UK weather: What the forecast is like for next week according to Met Office

The weather has taken a turn recently as yesterday (April 18) Bristol and much of the UK experienced a cold patch and some rain.

Although today will be showery across Bristol and the south west, the story for our region and the UK is set to change back to sunny weather again next week.

Below is the full forecast for the UK from the Met Office for today (April 19) and the rest of the week ahead.

Today:

Light cloud and a moderate breeze characterises the weather for Bristol today.

It's a largely overcast day, with temperatures staying around the 9C mark during the early morning between 6am and 8am if you are up that early.

Into the later morning, the sky stays overcast but no rain is forecast. By 12pm, temperatures will have risen to 14C.

Into the afternoon, temperatures continue to rise across the city, reaching a barmy 17C between 3pm to 5pm. This is the perfect opportunity to take a nice stroll or run across the city and get your daily exercise in.

Even better news, at 5pm and 6pm, sunny intervals are forecast which means that the sun may peak its head out of the clouds for a couple on hours.

Into this evening and overnight cloud rolls in once again but temperatures remain mild with temperatures remaining around the 13C mark into the later evening and into the night.

Across the wider part of the UK during today it remains largely dry, though there's a small chance of a shower in the southwest.

Across the north of England and the northeast it's a sunny day, with brighter skies slowly filtering further southwest. Overall it's a warmer feel than we have been used to over Friday and Saturday, although across some parts of the UK it will be turning breezy into the evening and overnight.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Across the UK during the early part of next week it largely remains fine with plenty of sunshine.

There is a chance of a few showers in the far southwest on Monday.

Across much of the UK it will remain breezy for most on Monday and Tuesday.

Good news, It will gradually be turning turning warmer into Wednesday though temperatures will still remain chilly overnight.
