UK weather: Wet start to the week but hopefully a brighter weekend

It looks as if the dry spell has come to an end - good news for gardeners at least.

Here is the Bristol Met Office forecast for the next few days.

Monday:

Cloud and rain will clear eastern areas through the morning, with sunny spells developing across the region.

A few showers are possible through the afternoon, mainly across western parts. Breezy.

Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Unsettled throughout.

There will be some sunny spells but heavy and possibly thundery showers are possible.

Turning a little drier through Thursday.

Near-normal temperatures.
