UK Weather: Warm sunshine and highs of 17C to hit Liverpool this week

Liverpool is set to bask in warm sunshine this week, perfect for those wanting to catch up with friends outside.

Outdoor hospitality reopened last week, with many people taking full advantage and enjoying themselves last weekend especially.

This week is set to see sunny spells and mild temperatures in Merseyside, meaning that outdoor meetings should be fine and dry.

Monday is currently forecast to be the best day of the week, with bright sunshine and highs of 17 degrees forecast.

Tuesday sees more cloud appear, but temperatures should stay on the mild side at around 15 degrees.

Wednesday is a similar day to Tuesday, but the Mercury will dip slightly with a top temperature of 14 predicted.

The sunshine returns on Thursday, with the cloud set to be at a minimum, temperatures stay at 14 degrees, but with minimal wind it should feel pleasant in the sunshine.

Friday and the following weekend is also currently forecast to be dry with sunny spells and temperatures around the 15 degrees mark.

The Met Office forecast for the entire North West said: "Monday will be dry and bright to start, with plenty of sunny spells. It will turn cloudier in the afternoon, but it will remain dry. Light winds.

"Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a few showers or spells possible later in the day. Wednesday may begin cloudy, but through the afternoon it will turn bright, and sunny. Staying dry too.

"High pressure moves in for Thursday with plenty of sunshine and light winds expected. Temperatures will be around or just below average."
