UK weather: Travel warning as strong gusts forecast

Rain is expected to hit many parts of Britain today (February 2) before strong wind buffets Scotland tomorrow.

This morning will be grey and cloudy for much of Northern Ireland, England and Wales, according to The Mirror.

Bristol will be no different - although we should be rain-free from 8am, the Met Office prediction suggests.

The temperature in the city is tipped to hover around the 10 degree mark throughout the day and into the evening.

Gusts of up to 36mph are anticipated, with noon seeing the peak speed.

That wind is nothing compared with what lies in store for much of Scotland tomorrow.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for wind, active from noon tomorrow until 9am on Tuesday.

Commuters have been told to watch out for disruption to journeys, while pedestrians should be way of flying debris.

There is also a "slight chance" that power cuts may occur, say the forecasters.

Elsewhere, Monday will start cloudy with rain for many, but sunny spells and showers will develop in the afternoon.
