Brits face a washout for the rest of the week with Met Office rain warnings in place for the coming three days before the country is hit by a cold blast and lows of -10C.
People should have their umbrellas at the ready especially in North West England and parts of Scotland and Wales as heavy showers are on the horizon, triggering flash flood warnings.
As much as 8ins of rain could fall in parts of Durham, Northumberland and Cumbria on Wednesday, with some places bracing for a month's worth of rain in a span of less than 18 hours.

The Met Office yellow warnings for rain have been put down to pressure systems from Iceland bringing downpours especially to coastal areas of the UK.

Jake Sojda, AccuWeather meteorologist, said torrential rain is set for the North West and South West Scotland on Wednesday, reported the Express.
He said: “Strong low pressure south of Iceland will direct a narrow stream of moisture toward the UK Wednesday into Thursday, resulting in heavy rainfall for some parts along the west coast of Scotland, North West England and Wales.
"On Wednesday and Wednesday night this will primarily focus on North West England and South West Scotland, where rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches (25-50 mm) are likely and isolated rainfall amounts of 4 inches (200 mm) are possible."
Mr Sojda added the wet weather is set to spread across the south of the UK by the end of the week, although they will be lighter showers.

He said: “Thursday night the stream of moisture will shift south. While rain will continue in North West England, pockets of heavy rain will also occur across Wales and South West England.”
At the same time the temperatures are starting to drop with the really cold snap coming next week.
By the weekend Netweather maps are showing the mercury dipping to 10C in and around London, and to just 2C in northern Scotland.
On Monday, the first icy blue patches begin to appear on the UK charts in Scotland, with early morning temperatures plunging towards zero.

This bitterly cold snap will continue into next Wednesday evening as freezing minimum temperatures of -3C grip large parts of Central Scotland, reported the Express.
The rest of the UK is forecast to stay just above freezing, with minimum temperature highs of just 4C across most of southern England.
However by midday next Thursday, this icy cold patch is significantly bigger as large parts of the UK begin to be gripped by bitterly cold conditions.
The mercury could fall to as low as -6C in a small part of northern Scotland, while parts of northern England could be hit by lows of just -2C.
This freezing theme will continue for much of the following week, while on November 11 temperatures are forecast to plummet even further to as low as -10 in a small part of Scotland.
The Met Office said snow is likely over higher ground in Scotland between Halloween and November 9.
