UK weather: Temperatures look set to drop as Storm Brendan approaches

It's going to be another cold and windy day as the country braces itself for Storm Brendan.

After a wet and windy night it looks like the rain is expected to ease throughout Sunday (January 12) before severe weather hits the country on Monday.

Storm Brendan will sweep eastwards across Ireland early on Monday, bringing very strong winds to many parts of the UK.

The Met Office has issued a yellow wind warning for the afternoon and evening, covering Northern Ireland and much of the western half of the UK, as well as northeast Scotland.

But for today the winds and rain are expected to ease, although it is expected to feel colder generally.

In the South West, including Bristol, it will be a dry start with some scattered showers.

But into the afternoon there is a chance of some sunny spells and winds are also expected to ease.

Temperatures are expected to stay around 10C, but will feel colder.
