This weekend things could be brightening up as temperatures are forecast to rise.
The Met Office forecast for Saturday, May 2 is for sunshine and showers for eastern parts, though northern Scotland will be cloudier with some more persistent rain.
Much of the west and south will stay dry by day and the weather will be a little warmer than Friday.
On Sunday, there will be a few showers in northern and eastern areas.
It will be cloudier at times in the far southwest with rain likely, which will be heaviest on Tuesday.
Many other areas will be dry and fine.

Becoming fairly cloudy in the morning although this should break up through the day to reveal some spells of sunshine later. Dry throughout and less breezy than Friday. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Cloudy but largely dry on Sunday. Fog possible to start on Monday, with cloudy skies broken by bright or sunny spells. Possible heavy rain Tuesday, which may turn thundery.
