UK weather: Some slightly warmer weather is on the way - but not for long

We may be getting a break from the chilly autumnal weather we have experienced this week.

November looks set to start on a rather mild note after days of cold temperatures and frosty mornings across the UK.

According to Met Office forecasters Friday, November 1 is set to be a mostly cloudy day with rain moving eastwards across most areas.

There will be some drier and brighter intervals to the east of the hills of Wales and the South West.

And it's going to be feeling much warmer than previous days with temperatures of up to 16C in places.

Here in Bristol we will be able to enjoy temperatures of up to 15C in the middle of the day and after a murky start the sun should come out in time for lunch.

Showers are expected to set in between 4pm in 10pm in and around the city.

As we head into the weekend, conditions are set to become rather more unsettled with spells of heavy rain.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain on Saturday.

The warning just misses Bristol and covers parts of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset, as well as Cheshire, Manchester and a large part of Wales.

Forecasters are warning the downpours could cause flooding and widespread travel disruption within the warning area.

Strong winds are also expected, and gales in coastal areas.

According to the Met Office long range forecast for the next two weeks, we are expected to get some very cold conditions with wintry showers possible over northern hills.

So enjoy the milder weather today as it will be in short supply for the rest of November if these forecasts are anything to go by.
