Heavy snow has been battering Britain forcing road closures and upto 15 mile queues of traffic.
Roads across the country including in Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent and Derbyshire have been closed overnight due to treacherous weather conditions - and more snow is on the way.
Traffic been building up on the M62 with 15 miles of slow moving queuing traffic in Yorkshire.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across large parts of the north of the UK on Wednesday.
A yellow warning for ice is in place today over southern England.
And the snowy conditions are set to continue through the week, with forecasters warning people it could continue over the next couple of days and urging motorists to take care.

A number of roads are shut across Greater Manchester following snowfall overnight.
Snow has fallen in hilly parts of the region, causing traffic problems on routes between Manchester and Yorkshire.
The Snake Pass is sealed off in both directions due to snow between the A6103 Ladybower Reservoir and Hurst Road.


In Greenfield the A635 is shut in both directions due to snow between Chew Valley Road to Thick Hollins Road, the Manchester Evening News reports.
A weather alert warning of snow and ice remains in place throughout rush hour covering the whole of Greater Manchester.
The M62 is also slow at Ainley Top in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, as snow hits the region, Examiner Live reports.


Traffic is queuing from the turn off for Pole Moor to Drub with 15 miles of slow moving queuing traffic.
Two major roads have been closed in the area due to the weather.
The A6024 Woodhead Road is closed in both directions due to snow from Fieldhead Lane (Holme) to A628 at the Holmfirth turn off.
The A635 at Greenfield in closed in both directions due to snow from A669 Chew Valley Road to Thick Hollins Road, Holmfirth.


Heavy snow overnight led to the closure of several major roads in Derbyshire.
Derbyshire County Council said the A57 Snake Pass, A53 Leek Road and A6024 Holme Moss were closed last night.
The Cat and Fiddle road (A537) and the A57 Snake pass have now reopened however motorists have been urged to take care when using it.

Disruption to travel is expected on the roads this morning as the heavy white stuff continues to fall in the Peak District, Derbyshire Live reports.
Flurries of snow have also begun to fall across Derby and the city centre.
A yellow weather warning for snow and ice, issued by the Met Office , continues to be in place today.
Motorists have been advised to take extra care on the roads.
Chief Meteorologist Frank Saunders said "... early Wednesday, don’t be surprised to see some snow falling even in Wales and the south, although again most of any lying snow will be over hills.”
The Met Office says to expect wintry showers for the northwestern parts of the UK tonight.
Cloud, rain and hill snow will spread across the southern third of the country, "rain perhaps turning to low-level snow over the Midlands and East Anglia."
On Thursday there will be sleet and snow over the southern third of the UK, clearing to sunny spells.
