UK weather: Mini heatwave to continue with highs of 28C forecast on Sunday

High temperatures are expected to continue on Sunday (May 31) as the country's mini heatwave shows no signs of ending.

We'll be treated to more of the glorious weather we've been enjoying lately as May draws to a close, with the majority of the UK remaining dry and hot.

In fact, Mirror Online reports the Met Office is predicting some regions, especially in the south of England, will record the lowest May rainfall figures on record when the final statistics are collated on Monday (June 1).

In some areas of the UK the temperature is set to hit 28°C on Sunday. In Bristol people can expect highs of 26°C, with a few patches of cloud forming in the afternoon after a scorcher of a morning.

But things could soon change, with the Met Office predicting Bristol could be in for some showers in the middle of next week - so you might want to make the most of the fine and dry weather on Sunday.

The Met Office forecast for Sunday, May 30 says: "Fine and dry with plenty of sunshine, with just a little fair weather cloud bubbling up through the afternoon.

"Feeling warm once again in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 26°C.

The outlook for Monday to Wednesday states: "Dry conditions Monday and Tuesday with some coastal showers possible overnight Tuesday.

"Turning cloudier with winds strengthening into the afternoon on Wednesday and showers likely. Still feeling warm."
