Forecasters are predicting a dry and mild start to the week for much of the UK today (July 6), following a blustery weekend punctuated by showers.
Bristol is expected to see sunny spells throughout the day and temperatures of 20C, with less powerful gusts of up to 27mph.
The forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday looks a little cloudier and a couple of degrees cooler, and it looks likely that the city will see rain throughout Thursday.
The Met Office's experts, posting the national forecast for the next week on Twitter, said: "The weather will be between weather systems, with a cool northerly flow.
"A fair amount of cloud and a few showers, but most places will be dry on Monday.
"Lighter winds compared to the weekend, with temperatures near average.
"After a fine start [on Tuesday], low pressure will move in from the Atlantic, bringing cloud and rain.
"Further spells of rain [on Wednesday], most likely across central areas. Brighter in the far north and south.
"Rain will clear eastwards [on Thursday], leaving a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers.
"A breezy and cool day [on Friday], with sunshine and scattered heavy downpours."

A mixture of cloud and sunny spells, conditions less windy than Sunday but still breezy. Some showers, mainly in the far north and east, but many areas mostly dry.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Dry and bright in the north. Elsewhere, after a dry and bright start on Tuesday, becoming cloudy with rain at times. Heaviest and most prolonged rain in the west.
