After another week of showers and floods, finally there is high pressure and warmer weather ahead, according to the Met Office.
With the bank holiday weekend looming, the Met Office has issued its long range forecast.
As usual the late August bank holiday falls on the final Monday of the month for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, which means this year's falls on August 30.
The build up to the long weekend is promising with sunnier weather expected this week and highs of 23C later today.
A yellow warning for rain remains in place for most of England until 9am this morning (August 22) but is expected to clear for bright and sunny spells.

A Met forecaster said: “It’s an improving picture as we move into Sunday with dry and brighter weather for many.
"Rain is continuing to push east with a yellow rain warning in force for some areas. So clear spells following on in the west with a few isolated showers.
“The rain in the east will quickly clear leaving the whole of the country very cloudy maybe a bit of brightness in the far west.

"Some of that cloud might be thick enough to produce some outbreaks of rain and drizzle during the course of the afternoon and temperatures a touch up on Saturday with highs of around 23C.
“By Sunday evening and any showers gradually fade with the cloud breaking up from the west and a few clear skies developing.”

Then looking to midweek and dry weather will become the norm across the UK and there may even be some very warm temperatures.
The Met Office predicts: "Mostly dry with sunny spells, best in the west where it will be warm or very warm. Cloudier and cooler in the north and east with patchy drizzle at times."
Met Office long range forecast - August 26 to September 4
"The last week in August and into September is likely to be dominated by high pressure bringing fine and settled weather to the UK," states the Met Office long range weather forecast.
"This will bring variable amounts of cloud, spells of sunshine and mainly light winds but also some fog patches by night, which readily clear away during early morning.

"It looks increasingly likely that these settled conditions will persist through much of this period, with perhaps weak frontal systems bringing some light rain at times.
"Winds likely to be light to moderate for most, with breezier conditions towards the edge of the high pressure in the far south, where it may feel cooler.
"Temperatures are likely to be rather warm in the west initially, but later feeling rather warm more widely, especially with increasing amounts of sunshine."
