UK weather: Met Office issues warning as Bristol to be hit by bad weather

The Met Office has warned heavy rain could cause travel disruption and flooding tomorrow (August 16).

The weather agency has issued a yellow warning for rain which covers the South West and most of Wales.

The warning will be in place between 8am and 10pm tomorrow.

Forecasters say heavy rain may lead to some travel disruption in the affected areas.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer.

"Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer. Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible."

Tomorrow's forecast for the South West says: "Often heavy rain will soon spread eastwards, with gales possible along coasts and over hills.

"The rain will be persistent through the day but the wind will ease later.

"Maximum temperature 19 °C."

There is light at the end of the tunnel in terms of next week’s Bank Holiday Weekend.
