UK weather: Met Office forecasts heavy rain for Bristol before dry day

Heavy rain will fall in Bristol today (November 25) if the forecasters are correct.

The downpour is expected this morning at around 7am, according to the Met Office.

The rest of the day should be dry, although clouds will linger throughout.

Some other parts of the UK will see rain too, particularly central areas. Northern regions, meanwhile, are tipped to be dry and cloudy.

Back to Bristol, there is a 90 per cent chance of rain at 7am, but the risk of rain drops sharply at 8am and then stays low for the rest of the day and into the evening.

At noon there is a 30 per cent chance of a light shower, though.

Temperatures are predicted to hover around 11-13 degrees, while the top gust will be around 18 mph in the morning.

The Met Office's summarised forecast for the whole of the UK states: "Some northern areas staying dry but cloudy.

"Rain will continue on-and-off across many central areas. Meanwhile southwestern areas will be milder with somewhat brighter skies and scattered heavy showers."
