UK Weather: Met Office confirm exact dates of July heatwave

The Met Office has confirmed when the UK could be set to enjoy a July heatwave.

After Liverpool was faced with underwhelming weather over the weekend, it will come as a welcome sight that forecasters predict warm conditions across the country from July 19 onwards.

As Birmingham Live reports, the whole of Europe is looking forward to soaring temperatures this month.

And the hot air is predicted to eventually drift over from the continent and reach UK shores.

The Met Office's early weather reports predict the hot spell to last from July 19 until August 2 - with soaring temperatures particularly expected in the south of England.

The outlook for the rest of August has not yet been released - so whether the heatwave lasts beyond August 2 remains to be seen, but forecasters are confident the weather will improve from July 19 onwards as the wet weather and floods of June are banished.
