
The UK heatwave continued today with sweltering temperatures predicted to rise as high as 34C.
On Wednesday, the mercury hit 31C at Heathrow Airport making it the hottest day of 2020.
The Met Office has forecast temperatures of 33C in west London on Thursday while parts of Wales could see the mercury rise to 34C. The highest ever UV levels could be reached in the UK.
However it won't be sunny skies for all areas as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather alert for south west and south east of England, Wales, western Scotland and Northern Ireland from Thursday afternoon. Brits are warned of thunderstorms and disruption due to flooding, lightning strikes, hail and wind.
