Brits are forecast to bask in scorching weather as temperatures are set to soar to 28C, before showers hit.

Forecasters have said the start of the week will start off “fine and dry” before temperatures rocket on Tuesday.

According to the Met Office, Tuesday could be as hot as 28C.

It warned: “Mainly fine and dry with patchy cloud and sunny spells. Some of the cloud may bring a shower later, but many places will be dry throughout.

“Maximum temperature 28 °C.”

The sunny weather won’t last all week, though, as thunder storms have been predicted for Wednesday.

The Met Office said it will be “mainly overcast” from Wednesday to Friday, “with prolonged rainfall and windy conditions expected.”

Heavy rain is then expected to blight London and the South East on the weekend, as the unsettled weather continues.
