Liverpool is getting ready for some scorching weather as part of a July heatwave this weekend.
The news will come as a welcome tonic after The Met Office cast doubt on whether the sunny spells it initially forecast would arrive on UK shores.
But after some hit and miss weather recently, temperatures are set to soar into the twenties over the coming days as summer arrives on Merseyside.

According to the Met Office, it will be wall-to-wall sunshine across the weekend as it reaches 19C at 10am on Saturday morning.
Temperatures will go into the twenties as we enter the afternoon and remain steady throughout the rest of the day.
The weather on Sunday will be slightly warmer as it is forecasted to reach temperatures of 22C at 4pm.
